Solid wood furniture manufacturer in Vietnam

Key takeaways

Everything TVN makes is solid wood, with engineered panels only where a client specifies them for drawer bottoms or backs. Five species are in stock: plantation pine from Lam Dong, acacia and rubberwood from southern Vietnam, and imported American white oak and teak. Boards are kiln-dried to 8 to 12 percent, joined with mortise-and-tenon or dowels, and finished with water-based lacquer, PU or hardwax oil.

Why moisture decides everything

Wood that leaves a workshop at 15 percent moisture and arrives in a heated home at 6 percent will shrink, cup and crack. Our two kilns bring boards to 8 to 12 percent depending on destination (8 to 10 for North America and Northern Europe, 10 to 12 for Australia and tropical markets), and we re-measure before machining and before finishing. The figures are on the inspection report of every order.

Joinery and construction

01

Tables

Breadboard ends or elongated slots that let the top move; aprons tenoned into legs; levelling glides.

02

Chairs

Mortise-and-tenon or domino joints, corner blocks, stretchers where the design allows; load-tested to 150 kg.

03

Casegoods

Frame-and-panel construction so wide panels can move; dovetailed or dowelled drawer boxes; soft-close runners on request.

Finishes

Water-based lacquer (low VOC, export default), PU lacquer for hotel and restaurant use, hardwax oil for natural looks, and paint on pine and rubberwood. Stains are matched to your sample and approved on a finish panel before production. See how samples and approvals fit the schedule on how it works.

“Clients ask for oak because they know the name. Half the time, acacia dried properly gives them the look and the budget they actually wanted.”

Solid wood FAQ

Is acacia good quality furniture wood?

Yes when kiln-dried and sorted. Poorly dried acacia is the source of most complaints about Vietnamese furniture; our moisture figures are on every report.

Do you use any MDF or plywood?

Only where specified: drawer bottoms, cabinet backs or painted door panels. The quote states it.

Can you supply FSC-certified wood?

On request for pine, acacia and oak, with lead time and a small premium.
